Pubic shower
Perfumery Hemisphere, Zagreb, Croatia, 2006
I took a shower in a shop window of a perfume shop in Zagreb. The idea was to have a trully genuine shower and not to 'pretend' or act it out. In order to control the performance I had to exclusively focus on just three 'components': (1) the act of showering, (2) a place to shower and (3) myself. I deliberately wanted to avoid any other components which might interefere or influence me, i.e. the pressure and anxiety of showering in an uncommon place with all the spectators. I managed to stay composed, devoted and in control. Given the outcome was a genuine act of ‘showering’ it generated an interesting relationship between what I thought I had delivered and what the audience had perceived.
